VIRTUAL CHAPLAIN’S Training

A Virtual Chaplain’s Training is being sponsored by the Tennessee Church of God State Office - Chaplain’s Association.  Dr. Laura Land will be the featured speaker and will be presenting on the subject “Engaging with Trauma Without being Traumatized.”  Registration is required to attend the Zoom meeting.

Dr. Laura R. Land Bio

Laura Land, PhD, LPC, NCC, an Atlanta native, obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Lee University receiving an academic and athletic scholarship. Upon graduation she worked for a number of years in the private business and finance sector at the Union Bank of Switzerland in Chattanooga, TN before attaining her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary. As an active member of the ACA and ASERVIC, she pursues her research agenda of trauma training, treatment, and trauma pedagogy in counselor education. She is honored to be a part of the ACA presidentially appointed Trauma and Crisis Taskforce. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, she served as the Interim Program Director at the Behavioral Research Institute under Dr. Tom Biller in Cleveland, TN, as well as holding the position of Child Treatment Specialist.

Laura completed her doctorate in Counseling and Counselor Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a top 3 nationally ranked Counseling and Counselor Education Ph.D. program. She presently teaches as an Assistant Professor at the University of North Georgia. She is also the director of the UNG Community Counseling Clinic; a free clinic that serves community members as well as students.
